Back in blue

My summer break is over and it's good to be back! I hope you've had a great summer? Rune and I have spent the last weeks getting more healthy, eating better food and doing more excersise. After having been overweight most of my life, I have decided to get a gastric bypass operation and prior to the operation I have to lose 10 % of my weight. -So that has been our summer project and we're doing really well, between us we've lost 20 kg (44 lbs) over the last 7 weeks!

A love letter to hydrangeas and to my darling Rune. It's our 3 year wedding anniversary today. How time flies! We had pink and blue hydrangeas in the church at our wedding and they will forever remind me of that special day.

Wedding flowers

Friday I watched the royal wedding, not that I'm a huge royalist, but it's hard to resist a big, fairytale wedding on live tv... My mum and her good friend, Annette, came to watch it with me and my mum gave me these amazing peonies. So beautiful! And I've never seen them in this soft pink/apricot colour before. For me, peonies are a true wedding flower. Rune and I were married in May and I had peonies in my wedding bouquet. I just love them.

Visiting

Some photos from our sunday visit at Jette and Kitty's. We had the most delicious and rich chocolate cake, and watched Despicable me. Now I know why my redecorating of the kitchen is moving so slow. No minions!

Waiting for spring...

More flowers, just what I need this time of year! Rune gave me this bouquet, not on monday as he refuses to celebrate Valentine's day (typical male!), but on wednesday. Fine by me, as long as I get flowers as beautiful as these!

B-day

A few photos from my birthday sunday. Rune was an absolute sweetheart and catered to my every whim. We went for a walk and had lunch in a favorite cafe. A lovely day! Here are some of my presents. From my mum and her husband I got a gift card for Amazon, so I had a great online shopping spree last night! The cushions were a little present from myself, I think we need some more colour in the living room. The beautiful blue and white pitcher from Anne Black was a present from my dad. From Rune's dad and his wife I got these lovely homemade knitted mittens. And from Rune I got a gorgeous purse in eel skin from Becksöndergaard. He has also ordered a print from Etsy, I can't wait for it to arrive!

A night out

Tonight we went out and celebrated that my sister-in-law, Paula, has finished her radiographer training. 3 1/2 years of hard work is over and she's done so well. Lots of excellent grades! And now she deserves a vacation!

Here we go again...

Monday is just around the corner, a new year and a new week with lots of opportunities and challenges. To be honest I'm a bit nervous, but I have Rune to hold my hand...

And I almost forgot to brag about the Stylish Blogger Award I received from the lovely Teje at Nero's Post and Patch! Thank you so much Teje! I'll write more about the award later this month.

Hi! Hope you're off to a good start in this brand new year. I had a great new year's eve with Rune. Lots of champagne and delicious sushi. Have you ever had uramaki with salmon and strawberries? It was surprisingly tasty! We put on some Michael Bublé and danced, and at midnight we watched the fireworks from our window.

Weekend wishes

Photos from Tivoli where the fake snow has been spreading christmas cheer since mid-november. Since then we've had plenty of the real thing!
