In bloom

Spring is here!  And I'm in the mood for floral patterns and prints. Whether on wallpaper samples, scarves, stationary, a purse, or my dressing gown, these flowers brighten my day :-)

Good things

Today will be about gratitude.Even though things are hard, I'm going to concentrate on some of the good things that also exist in my life right now.

  1. Going through a stack of old magazines and finding lots of christmas editions full of nice photos and good ideas for baking and decorating.
  2. This lovely Elsa Beskow illiustration I just bought here.
  3. Tickets to the new Harry Potter movie when it opens on the 18th.
  4. That my mum recently taught me how to knit purl stitches.

Green

As a child and, even more so, as an adult I have loved the drawings by swedish Elsa Beskow. Her children books are so sweet and naive, and in her nature stories like Peter in Blueberry Land, the picture of wildlife and small fantasy creatures are just beautiful. One of my favorite books by Elsa Beskow is Aunt Green, Aunt Brown and Aunt Lavender. Not so much a fairytale as some of her other books, but I think it's my favorite because it makes me wonder: which colour aunt would I be? Well, today I seem to be Aunt Green. How about you?
